How to access our facility

Our team will guide you through every stage of the testing process, from initial enquiry and technical discussions through to proposal development, scheduling and test execution.

1 Initial Enquiry

Contact our team at nsptf@stfc.ac.uk to discuss your testing needs / requirements and learn more about the facility. We can explain how the facility operates, and explore whether testing at the NSPTF would be the right choice for you.

2 Initial Customer information form

After making your initial enquiry, you will be invited to complete an initial customer information form. Please share as much information on this form as you are willing to, pre-NDA.

3 Introductory Meeting

Meet with our technical team to discuss your project and testing requirements. We will discuss in more detail the information that you provided on the Initial Customer Information Form. The aim of this discussion will be to establish whether all parties wish to proceed to produce a test proposal, at which point discussions will pause to get an NDA in place.

4 NDA Agreement

Discussions pause to allow all parties to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

5 Detailed Technical Information

You as a prospective customer will be invited to complete a detailed customer Information form. The purpose of this form, and the subsequent technical discussions, will be to capture as much information about the testing requirements for an initial test proposal to be drafted.

6 Initial Test Proposal

The NSPTF team will develop an initial test proposal based on your requirements, with a ROM cost offer.

7 Proposal Review

The prospective customer will review the initial test proposal and request any changes that need to be made. The NSPTF team will revise and refine the Initial Test Proposal to meet expectations and needs. This step will be completed when all parties agree with the content of the initial test proposal.

8 Full Test Proposal

A full test proposal will be prepared which provides a complete description of the test offer, cost and scheduling availability. The prospective customer will engage with the NSPTF test team to agree on the scope of the full test proposal.

9 Contract and Scheduling

Once all parties are in agreement with the full test proposal, contracts are signed and your test slot is confirmed.

10 Test Execution

Undertake your propulsion testing at the NSPTF! Nammo will assist with rigging/derigging of your engine. They will also carry out the hot firing and operation of the facility whilst you are monitoring the test within the customer room. STFC will manage the facility schedule, and can respond to any requests for changes to testing dates that may be required.
